The Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) partners with CEA CAPA to offer international internship programs for University of Michigan Ann Arbor students.
CEA CAPA's Summer Internship program is designed to further your personal career development and refine the career competencies that employers seek most in new hires. The certified career coaches at CEA CAPA will work with you one-on-one to help you define your career goals and place you in an internship in the field of your choice!
Career fields will vary by internship site. Some popular fields include:
You will begin by meeting with your CGIS advisor and will eventually complete your application with the help of a CEA CAPA student advisor. Please follow these steps in order to successfully complete your application.
Students must complete the CGIS application in MCompass by the deadline of February 1, 2025. Those who meet the eligibility criteria and have completed all the application requirements will be nominated by their CGIS advisor. The CGIS advisor will pass on the nomination to CEA CAPA for a final review.
Application Deadline: February 1st, 2025
Internship placements are limited and early application is encouraged.
Note: Throughout the remainder of the semester and when you return, you will be required to submit additional documents and attend CGIS program events.
Please note: If a student wishes to participate in CEA CAPA's "Study + Intern" programs, they must enroll as an independent student. Students who participate in a study abroad program as an "independent student" will not receive in-residence credit for their experience nor will they be eligible for the LSA International Internship Scholarship.
