Diversity Abroad Conference Highlights

  • Program Development at CEA: To continue meeting the evolving needs of our university partners and your students, CEA added depth to existing programming in the discipline areas of business, communication, and engineering, as well as expanded internship offerings. • Custom Programs with CEA: Now is the ideal time to consider your institution’s plans for custom and faculty-led programming for 2018. We understand how much planning and work these programs require, and our goal is to help you by offering flexibility in program length, academic structure, housing, and pricing that meet your budget and program needs. Whether you want to offer a course taught by your own faculty or a cohort arrangement in an area of interest, CEA can help. Stop by our booth to speak to our Director of Custom & Faculty-Led Programs, Ahmad Refky, during the conference.
  • New CEA London Study Center: With more than 14 years of experience in London, we're pleased to offer an affordable study abroad option in this fascinating city.
    • Courses at the CEA London Study Center turn the city into a classroom, engaging students through purposeful site visits that incorporate London's rich culture, colorful history, and thriving business environment. An intentional course list—with an emphasis on communication and business—complements our international internship opportunities, and includes London-themed courses in areas such as art history, history, literature, and theatre studies.
    • Our partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU) further enhanced our London offerings. With a diverse student body and centrally located campus, LSBU offers coursework in business, engineering, humanities, social and policy studies, psychology, and more.

  • Familiarization Trips: CEA's Familiarization Trips offer faculty and staff the opportunity to assess academic offerings, on-site staff, and facilities firsthand. These organized group site visits enable visitors to experience, with their colleagues and peers, the same educational and cultural opportunities made available to students during their time abroad. In 2017, CEA will be offering Familiarization Trips to Prague, Czech Republic and Buenos Aires, Argentina. For more information about upcoming trip locations, dates, and details, please visit the Meet Up With Us page on our website.

Prepare Your Students for a World of Opportunity

As a partner in study abroad, we look forward to working with you to achieve the goals established for your office. Through our standard program options, our flexible custom and faculty-led programming, and our ability to create coursework that meets the needs of your student body, we'll help you diversify your study abroad portfolio and increase enrollment on your campus.

We continually work to improve and expand our programs to ensure students are gaining experiences that will enrich their lives academically, personally, and professionally.

Stop by our booth during Diversity Abroad and talk to us about how CEA can help your students prepare for a global future. If you'd like to schedule a time in advance to meet with one of our representatives at Diversity Abroad, please feel free to contact them directly. We look forward to seeing you in Minneapolis!

Ahmad Refky

Director of Custom & Faculty Led Programs
Ahmad is originally from Cairo, Egypt, where he lived for 22 years. His first foray into study abroad came when he lived in the U.S. as an exchange student during his senior year of high school. That experience inspired him to work in international education, where he has built his career over the past decade. After graduating with a BA in International Relations from the American University in Cairo, Ahmad immigrated to the U.S. in 2001, where he pursued his graduate studies at DePaul University and studied abroad in The Netherlands as part of the Summer Institute on Sexuality, Culture, and Society.
