Every education abroad practitioner has a superpower that can be found in their personal narrative. In this session, participants develop their professional “origin story,” thinking about the unique talents and ideas they bring to the field and how to use them to identify professional goals and next steps in their careers. Managers learn techniques to help develop stories to support professional development and growth.

Parks & Recreation: Environmentalism and Poetry in Sydney
Join graduate student Louis Aquino to explore topics of self-exploration, sustainability, and support during his custom program experience in Australia. Louis will share the realities of pursuing an undergraduate trimester abroad, highlight the sense of community fostered by a CEA CAPA study center, and emphasize his academic growth in Sydney: as both a researcher and a creative writer. Louis’s poetry collection, Parks and Recreation, is a testament to his daily writing practice while exploring natural sites across the continent. Don’t miss out on these timely themes of student environmental action, CEA CAPA's commitment to Sustainability, and the importance of intentional custom programs.
My First Year Experience in London
Join Rosa Marshall to examine the academic and professional value of First Year Experience (FYE) programming. Framing London as her classroom, Rosa will share student perspectives on the benefits to one’s first semester abroad: developmentally, culturally, and institutionally. Rosa’s presentation showcases the exceptional value behind a First Year Experience program and the ways CEA CAPA uniquely supports for first year students. From Abbey Road to Amherst, MA, engage with Rosa about her cohort experience, her current academic pursuits, and tiers of support.

Studying, Interning, and Developing Professionally in Barcelona
Join Veronica Broskovetz, a Political Science and Spanish double major, to better understand the student experience completing an internship while taking courses at our most populous CEA CAPA study center. Veronica will divulge details on CEA CAPA’s flagship Global Internship Course, required for all interns. Expand your understanding of a Study Center as more than a meeting place and classroom. The professional immersion from pre to post coupled with Veronica’s homestay experience promises valuable insights. From Chemistry to Culture: Interning Abroad, Scientific Knowledge, & Global Perspective in Florence
Join Natasha Machera to unpack her study and intern experience as a Chemistry major interning at a winery in Florence. Natasha’s experience demonstrates that students need not limit their destination choice given their academic foci. Further your understanding on CEA CAPA internships as complimentary to student interest, career readiness, and academic requirements. Natasha’s anecdotes in social, artsy Florence through excursions and medical emergencies uplift CEA CAPA’s global preparedness and local intel. In celebration, Natasha will share how her internship in Florence propelled her acceptance to a fully funded graduate program for Biomedical and Health Sciences this Fall.
