Pre-Health Shadowing offers aspiring healthcare professionals the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to clinical environments around the world. Through international hospital placements, students observe a variety of medical specialties, explore potential career paths, and develop a deeper understanding of healthcare systems across cultures. Options range from flexible winter and summer shadowing experiences to study abroad programs that combine clinical observation with academic credit, allowing students to choose the format that best aligns with their goals.
1-9 week options are available over winter break and summer. New in Summer 2027, our multi-site programs allow students to begin with a week of coursework in Rome before moving on to a second location in Italy for 3-weeks (60 hours) of shadowing.
Combine international clinical shadowing with a semester abroad experience. Earn academic credit through a purpose-built healthcare seminar while completing up to 90 hours of clinical observation and taking additional study center courses to stay on track academically.

CEA CAPA Summer Pre-Health Seminar & Shadowing programs incorporate a full 60-hour Atlantis shadowing program into a 4-week schedule. Semester programs have 90 hours of shadowing across 15 weeks, built into a semester of academic coursework.
