The CEA CAPA Paris Center, located in the heart of the Marais district, offers an exceptional study abroad experience steeped in history and culture in the “City of Love.” Housed in the Hôtel Lièvre de la Grange, an 18th-century historical monument, the center is just steps away from iconic landmarks like Hôtel de Ville, the Seine River, Centre Pompidou, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Since its founding in 2005, the Paris Center has provided study abroad students with a curriculum tailored to the city’s unique character, featuring courses in art history, political science, communication, international business, and more. The faculty incorporates Paris as an extended classroom, encouraging you to connect your academic studies to the city’s dynamic cultural and historical landscape.
The program emphasizes more than academics. It prepares you for a globalized world, offering opportunities to explore how Paris operates as a hub of art, politics, and commerce. Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Paris Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Paris Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Paris Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. In addition, the CEA CAPA Paris Center is recognized by the French Ministry of Education as a private establishment of higher education (établissement d’enseignement supérieur privé).
Professors at the CEA CAPA Paris Center will carefully evaluate your work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating the final grade, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Courses at the CEA CAPA Paris Center are transcripted by the University of New Haven (UNH), CEA CAPA’s School of Record.
Institut Catholique de Paris, founded in 1875, is a private French university that has welcomed international students to its campus since 1948. Courses are held on the Institut Catholique campus in the 6th arrondissement, the heart of historical Paris. You’ll attend class just a stone's throw away from the Latin Quarter, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and Montparnasse. The school is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, and is a member of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC). Students who successfully complete their program will be issued an official transcript by the Institut Catholique de Paris.
You’ll enroll in courses with other international students at the Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises (ILCF), the Institut Catholique’s center for French Language and Culture. The professors at ILCF specialize in teaching French as a foreign language to students of all language levels. Out of a total student population of 30,000, there are approximately 3,500 foreign students, representing 120 countries and providing you the opportunity to meet students from around the world in one of Europe's most diverse and exciting cities.
Institut Catholique de Paris is monitored by the French Ministry of National Education and a member of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC).
The Institut Catholique de Paris utilizes a 60-minute contact hour whereas the United States higher education system utilizes a 50-minute contact hour. Recommended U.S. credits listed on CEA CAPA's website reflect a conversion of these contact hours. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university. Please consult with an academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
Students receive a transcript from Institut Catholique de Paris upon successful completion of the program. Transcript includes the number of hours per week and the weeks in the semester, so US colleges/universities may calculate the appropriate number of US credits they choose to award their students.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
We offer different housing options to match your budget, preferences, and study abroad goals. Housing options may change and will be confirmed on the housing application form prior to the start of the term. Below are the housing options that have been offered in the past.
Health and safety are a top priority when selecting and reviewing program housing. When evaluating housing, CEA CAPA considers several factors including the surrounding location, commute time to academic or internship settings, as well as the condition of the building exterior and interior, common areas, the individual housing unit, and other living spaces. CEA CAPA works to ensure that program housing meets established minimum health and safety guidelines and aligns with best practices in the field.
Regular cleaning of communal areas for programs longer than 4 weeks.
Reliable internet access is included in every housing option we offer.
Typically 1–2 students per bedroom, with a maximum of 3 per room.
Housing is located within 60 minutes of campus by foot or transportation.
Cooling and heating appliances are provided (AC not always included).
A shared space with basic utensils, refrigerator, freezer, and a stove, oven, or microwave.
Access to laundry is guaranteed onsite or within walking distance. Drying racks included.

You will also have access to the kitchen to prepare meals.
