HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
Engaging with the local community in Paris was one of the best parts of my experience studying abroad. Some of the ways I did this were by visiting local boulangeries or cafes in my neighborhood rather than the more American Starbucks. After a while, you start to develop your favorite spots, and the owners remember you as a regular and become very friendly. This aspect made me feel much more at home in Paris and was such a wonderful detail of my time in France.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?

My favorite class while studying abroad was French Culture and Civilization. I've always loved history, and being able to learn about it in the place where it happened is such a unique experience. The best part of this class was the excursions we went on. Every Thursday, we visited different parts of Paris, and our professors would spend the class time going into detail about the history and significance of that particular place. My favorite excursion was the Paris Opera House, but some others included the Arc de Triomphe and the Hotel des Invalides.
