Why did you choose to study abroad?
I chose to study abroad through CEA CAPA to experience new culture, make lasting memories, and expand my horizons as a young adult. As a Wildlife Biology and Natural Resource Management student, I was drawn to Galway’s unique landscapes and flora and fauna biodiversity that contrasts with my home in Michigan. I enjoy learning about what conservation efforts help make Ireland so beautiful.
What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
Listed on my programs handbook there is a field trip where was catch moths for data collection. I am extremely intrigued to see what this entails.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU'RE PASSIONATE AND EXCITED ABOUT? Thankfully I have many hobbies that involve being outdoors. Hiking, running, fishing, and studying plants and animals, all keep me connected to the natural world. I’d like to say these hobbies help me understand not only myself on a deeper level, but also how nature is beneficial to our well being.
WHAT CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING ABROAD? My ecology course consists of many hands-on activities out in the field. I am ecstatic to explore the country of Ireland and to learn about the various different landscapes.
