Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I love traveling and I want to become more independent. My university offered incoming freshmen a chance to study in Seville for our first quarter, and I jumped at the opportunity. Though UCLA decided my destination for me, I’m excited for Sevilla because I love Andalusian art.

What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I hope to share tapas while talking to new friends for hours in true Spanish style.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU'RE PASSIONATE AND EXCITED ABOUT?
I love art history. I love paintings, buildings, sculptures, installations, and everything else that comprises art throughout the ages. In Spain specifically, I'm excited to walk through charbagh gardens, admire the intricacies of muqarnas, and enjoy the theatricality of tenebristic paintings from the Spanish Baroque.

What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
Seville: Culture, Identity & Citizenship in the City. As a political science major, I’m excited to study firsthand how the Andalusian autonomous community navigates its relationship with the rest of Spain. I also look forward to learning about how Spain’s trademark Catholic tradition coexists with growing secularism.
