WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
The Culture and Civilization of Argentina class! It was so immersive and thoughtful. We truly learned what it meant to be Argentinean, and how politics and sociocultural values play their roles. We took field trips as a class to all different locations to truly build a nuanced understanding of it all. What made it even more impactful was how I could connect what we were learning in class with what I was experiencing every day in Buenos Aires, which made my time abroad even more meaningful.

WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One story I always tell is from one of our first nights out at a restaurant. I hadn’t spoken much Spanish in years, and while ordering steak, I confidently asked for it “medio raro” instead of “poco hecho,” which is what they actually say for “medium-rare.” The waiters looked at us like we were completely crazy, then laughed and taught us the right phrase—with huge smiles the whole time. It was such a small but memorable moment, and I love sharing it because it captures both the humor of adjusting to a new culture and how welcoming Argentines were to people learning their language. For me, it became a reminder that making mistakes is part of the process, and those moments often lead to the best connections.
