HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?

While in London, I engaged with the local community in multiple ways, but the most notable was by supporting small businesses. In the area I was living in London, there were many small locally sourced restaurants that I would go to with friends. It allowed me to engage with the community by getting to know some of my neighbors who lived and worked in my community. For me, it's very important to support small businesses so that was something I wanted to continue prioritizing while abroad. When I went shopping in London, I mainly shopped at small businesses, and it was easy because London has a lot of options for locally owned businesses. By doing that I was able to engage with and better understand the community I was living in.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?

My favorite class I took while abroad was a course on London's museums. Coming from an area in the United States, where I the majority of the time have to pay to go to museums, I was truly shocked by the accessibility and vastness of the museums in London. My professor Sylvia Lahav, was an incredible professor and knew the world of museums inside and out. My class had students studying a wide variety of subjects but she gave each student personal attention and was able to find ways that every major connected to museums. While in her class I was able to go to 10+ museums with my class. It was truly one of the best classes I've ever taken.
