My favorite class I took while abroad was Global Communication. I had no idea that a 4-week course could change my life so much. This course gave me a unique insight into living abroad and how different cultures function. I have taken intercultural communication courses at my home university, but nothing compares to the ethnographic research I was able to conduct by actually immersing myself in a foreign culture.

I was definitely the most social version of myself abroad, and it benefited me greatly. I engaged with the local community and like-minded people by going to events and places that interested me. For example, I play the guitar, so I found a nearby guitar store and talked to employees about the music scene in Dublin! I also went to the Irish Rock and Roll Museum to learn further about the history of music in Ireland.
