My favorite class I took during study abroad was Public Art in Barcelona. This class discussed the history, architecture, and big cultural figureheads in Barcelona. We explored various neighborhoods and the art that existed in these spaces made by various Spanish and non-Spanish artists. I really valued the time spent outside of the classroom and the cultural immersion that I got out of this class.

I engaged with my local community while abroad through learning the language, traveling throughout my host country and city, and finding friends in local areas. I had the opportunity through CEA CAPA to have a local student as a language exchange partner where we met once a week to practice our english and Spanish. We were able to travel throughout Barcelona together and learn more about our respective cultures and still talk to this day.
