Dr. Kyle Rausch is Vice President for Academic Partnerships at CEA CAPA Education Abroad, where he works with colleges and universities to strengthen academic strategy, expand access, and advance high-quality global learning through collaborative partnership.
Previously, Kyle served as Executive Director of the Study Abroad Office and International Travel Safety at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), Chicago’s only public research I university. During his tenure, he led efforts to expand access to education abroad, increasing student participation by more than 70 percent and helping UIC earn recognition as a top-producing institution for the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. He also developed and managed the university’s comprehensive travel risk management program, overseeing institutional policy, health and safety protocols, and emergency response for international travelers.
Across 18 years in public higher education, including leadership roles at Arizona State University and other institutions, Kyle has worked to scale faculty-directed programming responsibly, develop international risk management frameworks, and lead students on-site in Europe and Central America. His professional focus centers on access, student development, intercultural learning, and strengthening the connection between global education and career readiness.
Kyle earned a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, where his research focused on supporting first-generation college students in education abroad. He holds a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and a bachelor’s degree in French and International Affairs from Florida State University. He is a Fulbright International Education Administrator Scholar (Taiwan, 2023), a licensed Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), and has served two elected terms on the Council of the Forum on Education Abroad.
