WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?

My favorite, and only class I took abroad was the Medical Spanish course, which was a 3 hour a day class where you practiced patient simulation and learned medical terminology. This course especially helped me as a Pre PA student, as I currently work in a hospital with lots of Spanish speaking patients. Now, I am able to talk to patients more personally, and eliminate the language barrier to a certain extent.

HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?

An engaging part of my time abroad was traveling to different parts of the country. Every weekend, my friends and I visited a new location; some including Puerto Viejo, Monteverde, and Jaco. This was very important to us, as we were able to learn more about the culture in different environments, and practice our Spanish in a more realistic setting. Along with that, we meet many locals that were very welcoming, and still talk to today!
