My experience abroad was shadowing professionals in hospitals in Italy and Spain. This was the most educational experience I have had because I observed how different cultures influence the approach to patient care, teamwork, and communication. What definitely stood out to me was the warmer, more family-oriented relationships between healthcare professionals, patients, and their families. I gained not only medical knowledge but cultural perspectives that I hope to incorporate into my future practice.

While abroad in Italy and Spain, I communicated with the local community during my free time. Places like restaurants, cafes, and shops allowed me to interact with the people in the communities. I practiced speaking with locals in their own language and asked for recommendations on where to go, what to see, and where to eat. I also took tours around different cities and learned about the history of their architecture and cultures.
