WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?

My favorite class was my French course because it directly helped me engage with the community around me. Learning the language gave me more confidence to interact with locals in everyday situations, whether I was ordering coffee, asking a question, or having a short conversation. I enjoyed being able to immediately apply what I learned in class outside of the classroom. It also made me more comfortable putting myself out there and embracing the experience of living in a different country.

HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?

I tried to engage with the local community through small, everyday interactions. I would get coffee from local cafés, explore shops and restaurants, and make an effort to speak French whenever I had the opportunity. Even if I only knew a few words or phrases, trying to use the language helped me feel more comfortable interacting with people and gave me a better appreciation for the local culture. I found that these simple experiences often made me feel more connected to the French Riviera and helped me experience the area beyond just being a student or tourist.
