While studying abroad in Barcelona, I took an Advanced Daily Spanish Conversations course. This was my favorite class because it allowed me to naturally practice my Spanish, while also getting to know my teacher/other students, and learn about local culture. Many of our daily topics were about what was going on in our local community and it gave me great insight into different perspectives. I also had a very kind, patient teacher who made the class even better!

During my semester abroad in Barcelona, one of the main ways I intentionally connected with the local community was through my internship office. I interned a local company, and there were many lunches spent together speaking in Spanish and learning about their culture. I also was sure to ask for many city recommendations, so I could see the city from their local perspective.
