Why did you choose to study abroad?
I chose in the heart of Tokyo, offering the ideal environment to bridge the gap between my business major and Japanese language minor. Tokyo is a massive global economic hub, making it the perfect setting to see international business operate in real time. Living and studying there will allow me to take what I have learned in the classroom and apply it directly to real-world situations, especially as I work to elevate my language skills to a professional level.
What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
While abroad, I am most looking forward to navigating the daily professional world in Tokyo, specifically by learning to use formal business Japanese in real-world settings. While classroom learning has given me a strong foundation, interacting with local professionals, navigating the bustling Shinjuku district, and practicing Keigo (honorific Japanese) in daily life will challenge me in entirely new ways.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU'RE PASSIONATE AND EXCITED ABOUT? I am really passionate about seeing how technology integrates into daily business operations to make complex systems run smoothly. As a business IT systems major, I am constantly looking at how data and infrastructure solve real-world problems. Outside of my major, I love exploring local food scenes and city neighborhoods.
WHAT CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING ABROAD? I am especially looking forward to taking International Business Issues. Additionally, I am excited about my Japanese language courses.
