Custom Programs

Dustin Aschenbeck brings more than 15 years of experience in education abroad, with a career shaped by thoughtful leadership across program development, global operations, institutional relations, and educational technology. He is driven by a deep belief in the power of international education to expand perspective, cultivate purpose, and prepare students to move through the world with intention.

Dustin spent a decade with Rustic Pathways, where he served as Operations Director in South Asia and later as the Director of Custom Group Travel. During this time, he designed and launched the organization’s Custom Group Travel product, discovering a lasting passion for bespoke programming and the meaningful impact of carefully crafted global experiences. His work consistently reflects a commitment to access and equity, with a focus on building systems and partnerships that reduce barriers and broaden participation in international education.

In addition to his work in study abroad, Dustin brings experience in educational and enterprise technology, having partnered with school districts and higher education institutions to implement and support learning management systems. This blend of operational leadership and technical insight informs his approach to program development and partner engagement.

Dustin has traveled to more than 50 countries and finds inspiration in the people, cultures, and landscapes he encounters along the way. When home in Colorado, he enjoys time with family, whitewater kayaking, playing the piano, and maintaining a steady yoga practice. At the heart of it all is a genuine love for life and a deep appreciation for the opportunities that shape it, guided by a belief that the most meaningful moments are often the ones we choose to step into with curiosity, courage, and an open heart.
