Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
Studying abroad in Italy has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. As someone who is half-Italian and was raised surrounded by the Italian language and culture, my heritage has always been an important part of who I am. I’m also pursuing a minor in Italian so I chose Florence as an opportunity to deepen my connection to my family’s roots, strengthen my language skills, and to fully immerse myself in the culture that I grew up with.

What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I am really excited to experience what everyday life is like not only in Italy, but across Europe. I can’t wait to immerse myself in different languages, cultures, and histories while meeting new people and exploring new places along the way. I’m especially looking forward to using my Italian in real-time and becoming more confident navigating the world on my own.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU'RE PASSIONATE AND EXCITED ABOUT?
I’m really passionate about storytelling, especially through acting, film, media, and journalism. I love exploring the different ways stories can connect people and communicate different perspectives which is a major reason why I am super excited to be a Content Creator! Some of my other interests include: soccer, surfing, cooking, listening to music, and going to the beach.

What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
I am most excited for my Food and Culture class. I can't wait to see all the different types of Italian food we make!
