My favorite class while abroad was Exploring Sydney. In this class, we went on field trips to different suburbs around Sydney and learned about the city’s history, culture, and local communities. We also visited museums and other important places, which made learning much more engaging than just sitting in a classroom. It was a great way to explore Sydney while also understanding more about the city I was living in. 

While studying and interning in Sydney, I engaged with the local community mainly through my internship at a car dealership. Working with local coworkers gave me the chance to experience Australian work culture and learn how people communicate and work together. At first, it took some time to understand some of the local slang, but asking questions and building relationships with my coworkers helped me adjust. Outside of work, I also explored different parts of Sydney, met new people, and experienced the city’s culture and everyday life.
