The Global Business Consulting program offers you the opportunity to strengthen essential career readiness competencies, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, through hands-on, project-based learning. Working in a small consulting team, you will collaborate with peers and get guidance from your instructor throughout the process to design solutions for a real-world business challenge that a local host organization in your destination is facing. This practical experience will not only prepare you to stand out in the global job market, but also equip you with the skills to succeed in a variety of professional environments well beyond your program.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Prague Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Prague Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Prague Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Professors at the CEA CAPA Prague Center carefully evaluate student's work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating final grades, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by international faculty.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- You’ll attend class with other CEA CAPA students.
- The maximum class size is 25 students for language courses and 25 students for electives. Small class sizes mean more personalized attention from your instructors.

Study abroad at Charles University, one of the largest and oldest university in the Czech Republic, while exploring one of Europe's most charming cities!
Charles University was founded in 1348 and is considered one of the best-rated Czech universities according to international rankings.. The university consists of 17 colleges and enrolls more than 50,000 students. Faculties and departments are spread throughout Prague - as a CEA CAPA student you’ll take courses at the Faculty of Arts’s Eastern and Central European Studies Department (ECES), located in Prague’s Old Town district.
The coursework is designed specifically for international undergraduate students and allows you to explore a variety of subject areas, including Literature, Art and Culture, History, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Politics, Languages, and more. All ECES courses are taught in English.
Credit Transfer Information
CEA CAPA credit hour recommendations are based on the following conversion: 15 contact hours equals 1 U.S. credit. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university. Please consult with an academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Students receive a transcript from Charles University upon successful completion of the program. The transcript reflects contact hours.

Grading
Grade conversions from CEA CAPA partner institutions abroad to a US grading scale are determined in consultation with our School of Record and benchmarked with other peer institutions in the field.

Classroom and Information
- Charles University faculty is international and experienced in integrating American and European students in an American-style learning environment.
- Attendance is mandatory and monitored by professors and Charles University academic staff.
- Average class size is approximately 19 students and classes are capped at 28 students. Some specialized classes may be smaller; some general courses may be slightly larger.
- CEA CAPA students attend classes alongside other international students. The student body typically represents 60 different nationalities.

Program Structure & Courses
The required Business Consulting course is comprised of both an academic course and a locally based business consulting project that will require you to meet with clients and conduct group work outside of class. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about your assigned company through in-person or virtual meetings and by visiting their facilities/operations, conducting market research, creating relationships, ideating proposals and solutions, all of which will culminate in a consulting proposal.
In addition to your 3-credit business consulting course and project, you'll enroll in courses at the CEA CAPA Prague Center and have the option to take additional courses at one of our partner institutions:
- If you enroll in the 'base program' you'll take 1-credit Czech Culture and Language course through Charles University and 3-4 CEA CAPA courses. The Culture and Language course meets for 15 contact hours/1 semester credit, and CEA CAPA courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 semester credits each. Overall, you may earn a total of 13-16 semester credits (up to 240 contact hours).
- If you enroll in the CEA CAPA & AAU Hybrid option you'll enroll in 3 AAU courses and 1 CEA CAPA course (optional). AAU courses meet for 42 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn a total of 12-15 semester credits (up to 216 contact hours).
- If you enroll in the CEA CAPA & Charles University Hybrid option you'll enroll in 2-3 CEA CAPA courses and 2 CU courses. CU courses meet for 52 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn a total of 12-15 semester credits (up to 239 contact hours).
- If you enroll in the CEA CAPA & UNYP Hybrid option you'll enroll in 2-3 CEA CAPA courses and 2 UNYP courses. UNYP courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn a total of 12-15 semester credits (up to 225 contact hours).
This versatile program provides you with the opportunity to gain professional experience while also making progress toward your degree requirements and engaging in classes that afford a richer cultural experience.
Prior to departure, you'll select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availability. Your housing abroad is more than a place to sleep, it's a place to feel at home.
Health & Safety
Health and safety are a top priority when selecting and reviewing program housing. When evaluating housing, CEA CAPA considers several factors including the surrounding location, commute time to academic or internship settings, as well as the condition of the building exterior and interior, common areas, the individual housing unit, and other living spaces. CEA CAPA works to ensure that program housing meets established minimum health and safety guidelines and aligns with best practices in the field.

Regular cleaning of communal areas for programs longer than 4 weeks.
Wi-Fi
Reliable internet access is included in every housing option we offer.
Students Per Bedroom
Typically 1–2 students per bedroom, with a maximum of 3 per room.
Commute Time
Housing is located within 60 minutes of campus by foot or transportation.
Temperature Control
Cooling and heating appliances are provided (AC not always included).
Kitchen Access
A shared space with basic utensils, refrigerator, freezer, and a stove, oven, or microwave.
Laundry
Access to laundry is guaranteed onsite or within walking distance. Drying racks included.

Excursions
Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
