DESCRIPTION
In elementary level courses students will develop language skills that will function as a base for future studies and are necessary for communication in daily life. Students will study modern Chinese in authentic contexts and functional areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. At the conclusion of the course students will be able to recognize and produce approximately 2,000 Chinese vocabulary, 800 everyday expressions as well as basic grammar required for further study of the language.
