DESCRIPTION
Advanced level courses are designed to give students a broader understanding of various aspects of China, its culture and people. Students will read and engage in active discussions of texts related to social life, politics, economy and customs in China. The course will also expose students to audio visual material related to these topics. At the conclusion of the course students will be able to recognize and produce 5,000 vocabulary and approximately 2,000 Chinese characters in common use. Students will also have a firm foundation for using Chinese in their field of study.
