General Theater Internship Position Description
Explore the dynamic world of Theater Internships Abroad, a field dedicated to the captivating art of live performance and storytelling. This field offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the magic of live performance and artistic expression. Some duties may include but are not limited to:
1. Supporting Rehearsal Setup: Contribute to the preparation of rehearsal spaces by arranging props, setting up sound and lighting, and organizing scripts under the supervision of the stage manager.
2. Coordinating Costume Fittings: Help coordinate basic costume fittings by organizing schedules, preparing costume pieces, and ensuring actors have what they need for their fittings.
3. Participating in Audience Outreach: Engage in audience outreach by distributing promotional materials, managing event sign-ups, and preparing seating arrangements for performances.

Theatre Production Intern at a Theater
As a Theatre Production Intern at a Theater, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a theatre while learning what goes into staging successful productions. You’ll shadow the artistic and technical directors, observe and take notes during dress rehearsals, and assist with administration and company liaison. You’ll also contribute to marketing and outreach by creating online content, writing social media posts, and preparing newsletters, gaining a well-rounded view of theatre production and management.
Assistant Stage Manager Intern at a Theatre Company
As an Assistant Stage Manager Intern at a theater company, you’ll support the stage manager in the daily operations of a production while gaining behind-the-scenes experience in live theatre. You’ll assist with wardrobe and costuming, help with set structuring and layout, and provide technical support with lighting and sound. You’ll also contribute to prop gathering and overall production logistics, building a strong foundation in stage management and technical theatre.
Theater Workshop Assistant Intern at a Youth Theater
As a Theater Workshop Assistant Intern at a youth theater, you’ll help deliver theatre workshops and rehearsals for young people aged 8–21, supporting both creative development and participant well-being. You’ll work alongside lead directors to plan sessions, lead warm-ups, encourage participation, and assist with backstage tasks during performances. This Internship offers hands-on experience in theatre facilitation, directing, and youth arts practice, while building valuable skills in arts education and community engagement.
