WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
One of my favorite courses was Nationalism and Separatism in Catalonia Today because it gave me a deeper perspective on Catalonia’s identity and politics, something I could see firsthand living in Barcelona. I enjoyed how the class connected current events with history, and I found myself noticing cultural and political nuances in everyday conversations and public spaces. The course made me feel more connected to the city and more aware of the context surrounding life there.

HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I made an effort to get out of my comfort zone and connect with the local community beyond the classroom. From chatting with neighbors and shop owners in Spanish to joining locals at community events and markets, I found small but meaningful ways to immerse myself. My internship also gave me the chance to interact with colleagues who lived in the city, which helped me gain a better understanding of Spanish work culture and daily life.
