Mary Alice Haas is an international education professional whose study abroad experiences in South Africa and India shaped her values and inspired her career in the field. After graduating, she spent six months in the Philippines interning with GoAbroad, where she discovered her passion for working directly with students and supporting their global experiences.
She went on to manage Lamar University’s Study Abroad Office, overseeing J-1 visa exchanges, custom faculty-led programs, student advising, marketing, and health and safety. In this role, she developed a comprehensive understanding of program management and student support across the full study abroad lifecycle.
Mary Alice later joined CIS Abroad as an Institutional Relations Director, drawn to its mission and collaborative culture, where she could support institutions and students more broadly. She now serves as a Regional Director with CEA CAPA Education Abroad, based in California.
Mary Alice enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching women’s soccer, and getting outside whenever she can. Her favorite experiences involve trekking and exploring the outdoors. She and her brother hiked Kilimanjaro in 2023 and summited two volcanoes in Guatemala in 2026. She feels most herself when disconnecting, meeting new people, and immersing herself in nature.
