WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
Send an Email
Madrid Museums. I love museums, and this class shared a lot of stories about art as well as the artists. I enjoyed learning about the mythological stories the most and about the history of the royal family. I really liked Velázquez's work the most and the stories he told in his art.
HOW
DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I practiced Spanish with as many people as I could. I found it was easier to practice in places that weren't popular amongst tourists. I made friends with a few locals and got lunch with them sometimes. They showed me around, and I practiced Spanish with them. I went to markets and local restaurants/tapas bars, I donated when I could and I learned about the community around me.
