WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One of my favorite stories from my time abroad is when I accidentally bought fabric softener instead of laundry detergent. I was at the store, quickly grabbing the first bottle that looked like it might be detergent, and didn’t realize until I started my laundry that I had a bottle of softener. My clothes came out smelling amazing but still dirty, which was a funny reminder of how easy it is to make small mistakes in a foreign country. It made me really appreciate how much attention to detail matters, especially when navigating language and cultural differences. These kinds of little slip-ups are part of the experience, and I’ll always remember that lesson as part of living abroad.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class was “Media and Society” because it gave me an entirely new perspective on how media shapes public opinion in Central Europe. We dove into the Czech media landscape, which felt totally different from what I’m used to back in the States. Plus, the class was full of insightful discussions about the intersection of politics and media, which made it feel super relevant to current events.
