While in Madrid, I made sure to change my timing to the Spanish way. Some examples include eating dinner later, engaging in the tapas culture, and adjusting my daily schedule to match the slower pace of life. I also spent much of my time in plazas and cafes, which gave me a better feel for what local life is like. My friends and I also shopped at local mercados for groceries and tried to use our Spanish daily!

As a business major, my favorite class abroad was International Business. I found it especially interesting to learn how European countries and nations around the world conduct business while navigating cultural differences and barriers to entry. Being able to travel on weekends and explore new countries made the class even more engaging because I could see real-life examples of business models and adaptations in action.
