Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I am fortunate that my home institution's study abroad program is amazing and facilitates an opportunity for everyone to go abroad. They made it easy for me to have complete freedom to travel wherever I wanted. I chose to study in Sydney, Australia, so I could explore a city with a large beach culture, as well as somewhere that is heavily influenced by the arts.
What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
The main experience I am hoping to have abroad is to learn this city like the back of my palm. Even though I want to do a lot of traveling, I love getting to know a city well and hopefully be able to show it to friends or family in years to come. I want to explore as much of the city as possible, whether that be through restaurants, conversations with locals, learning about Aboriginal history, or immersing myself in local art.
What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
The class I am most looking forward to is my Romanticism Philosophy class. This class combines many of my interests and is extremely applicable to my combination of majors, Visual Arts and Philosophy. We get to explore literature from the Romantic Era, most of which involves nature, art, and transformation.
WHAT IS SOMETHING you're passionate and excited about?
I am passionate about being outdoors, as well as respecting nature. Whether that be the beach, mountains, or a park bench, I am happiest when I can spend time in the sun.
