Juan was born in Colombia and graduated from college with a Law degree. In 2010, Juan came to the U.S. for a year as an intern—his first taste of the study abroad world. In 2012, Juan moved to the U.S. to pursue a master's degree in English at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. After graduation, he worked as a recruiter for the university and advisor for the Study Abroad Office, and had the opportunity to visit partners in Latin America and Asia. Being able to develop partnerships that would provide cultural exchange experiences to students was a big inspiration and brought such a rewarding feeling for his career that he knew this was what he wanted for his future. Juan has a great passion for international education as it shaped his life in ways he couldn't imagine, which he wants for others. Outside of work, Juan is a tennis enthusiast who plays regularly, a board game fan, and a frequent moviegoer.
