WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
Send an Email
By far my favorite class was Social History of the Italian Mafia with Professor James Teasdale. It was an all-encompassing course that covered the Italian mafia all the way from Sicily to the United States and he did a great job of making it exciting and interactive for us. I think integrating pop culture like the Sopranos and Goodfellas into the course helped us better understand the lesson material.
HOW
DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
While abroad, I worked a volunteer internship with Grupo Archelogio, which was an archival group based in Rome. I met many locals through this internship and was able to share with them many parts of my own culture while learning about theirs. I also enjoyed living with my Italian roommate who was deeply ingrained in the local community and brought me around.
