HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I volunteered with a couple organizations while studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. One of which was an organization that built community projects for the underprivileged, and I really enjoyed it not only because of the meaningful work, but I was also able to meet people around my age and form positive friendships abroad. My other volunteer work was at a soup kitchen and community outreach center, where I was able to meet people from different economics backgrounds than mine and empathize with their situations and give me a different perspective, as well as being able to practice my Spanish with others.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
I enjoyed international business the most because we got the chance to have very interesting guest speakers visit our class, as well as took different field trips relating to topics we were covering in class. You can really tell that the instructors/staff put the effort into making the course meaningful and engaging for students, which I really appreciated.
