I engaged with the local community through walks in Retiro Park everyday and sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine with locals. I found both of these to be a therapeutic and fulfilling experience outside of attending my classes. I got to observe the local culture and get to know individuals living around me.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class was one on the Sports Industry in Madrid. The soccer/"futbol" culture in Madrid is so significant and unique, and I found it so fascinating to learn of the behind the scenes of the industry. Additionally, being a Sport Management student, I was excited to bring this European knowledge back to the states.
