I really tried my best to fit in with the locals in order to minimize the work they had to do when interacting with me. I spoke in Spanish to everyone, as I would not expect someone to try and use another language to accommodate a foreigner. In general I just kept an open mind to the culture and everything I was experiencing and observe and take note.
WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
I always tell people to make sure you stay in your home city some too. People get caught up in traveling and don't end up spending time in their home city. I loved getting to know somewhere new and look forward to going back and going to all my old spots
