HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I had the opportunity to take a class about the urban design of London, therefore went on many excursions to the surrounding neighborhoods. This allowed me to gain a sense of the social aspects that change based on the environment logically and emotionally. On top of that, our location was more active and that meant may everyday interactions with locals and other international students. I enjoyed slowly getting to know workers at grocery stores, people at the train stations, and even strangers at parks or markets.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class was called London Museums. This course was mostly focused on art in museums, but I thought it was really cool understanding the behind the scenes and philosophy of artists curators and audiences alike. Because of this, I definitely feel more confident of what’s presented to me and why, whether it be art or even news and advertisements.
