Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
At the heart of why I chose to study abroad in Sydney, Australia, is my love for traveling! I've been touring internationally since I was three years old, when I went to Singapore, and it has been an annual passion of mine ever since. However, traveling with family is one thing, but traveling with your friends and classmates to a destination like Australia, where I may not be able to visit later in life during graduate school or beyond, is an opportunity I could not pass up!
What IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I'm hoping to take full advantage of the outdoors! Spring 2026 is during the summer in Sydney, while it is a *very* cold winter at the same time back at my home institution in Upstate New York. So, I want to experience the beach city of Sydney, go on hikes, and maybe even take a short trip to Queensland to explore the Great Barrier Reef.
What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
I'm most excited to take "Global Health in an Interconnected World!" I am a pre-med student and have taken many classes in the US, learning about our healthcare system, so I am excited to learn about the side of a country like Australia with universal healthcare and how that shapes the cost, quality, and access of healthcare to locals.
WHAT IS SOMETHING you're passionate and excited about?
I am very passionate about nature and physical exercise, so I am excited to tie in the two by going on hiking trails and runs along the Sydney coastlines. I also like photography and videography so I'm excited to document my journey during my time there.
