Barcelona CEA Soccer League Semifinal
Last week the Barcelona CEA Soccer League Semi-final took place. This game had produced big expectations during this season. FC. BarCEAlona had previously lost to ‘Los Martillos’ (3-2) in the first game of the season, however, both teams have notched up a series of impressive wins since then. Needless to say, expectations were high! FC. BarCEAlona scored early on in the match and gained the psychological advantage, this was followed soon after with another goal by the Head of Spanish Language Studies, Enric ‘Figuerinyo’ Figueras.
‘Los Martillos’ implemented a more offensive game, with some extraordinary attacks at goal bringing the score to 2-1 at half-time. In the second half, ‘Los Martillos’, once again, upped their game and attacked more decisively bringing the score to 2-2. FC. BarCEALona were quick to react and, from a corner, Professor Jordi Gorríz executed an impressive goal that appeared to mark the difference bringing the score to 3-2. This, however, was by no means the end of this battle, two minutes later Enric ‘Figuerinyo’ Figueras scored his hatrick, which once again forced the Martillos to raise their game and which resulted in an onslaught of goal opportunities that were only evaded with FC. BarCEALona’s intensive defense. While there could only be one winner, without a doubt both teams showed the true grit of champions. Final score 4-3. Congratulations FC. BarCEAlona!
