Stroll cobblestone streets, explore local markets, or visit Picasso’s former studio, all while practicing your French language skills and immersing in daily life. The CEA CAPA Study Center, located in Old Town Antibes, offers courses in business, communication, liberal arts, and French language and culture. During the fall and spring semesters, you’ll also have the opportunity to take business and STEM courses alongside other international students at the SKEMA Business School.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Professors at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center will carefully evaluate your work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating the final grade, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by faculty selected by CEA CAPA and approved by UNH.
- Periodic homework assignments and final examinations will be administered.
- Class attendance is mandatory and monitored by each professor. You may access your grades and attendance on their CEA CAPA Student Portal.
- Class size is limited to 30, allowing for personalized attention.
- Language classes are designed to be taken with other CEA CAPA students of equivalent language levels.

SKEMA Business School
SKEMA (School of Knowledge and Management.) is one of Europe’s most respected schools of business and management and offers a range of undergraduate and master’s level degrees. CEA CAPA students study at the international SKEMA Bachelors program, which offers not only Business and Management courses but also courses in Engineering, Science, Finance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Global Business Development, Event Management, E-Business, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development & Environmental Management, and Product Innovation Management.
Students live in the coastal town of Antibes and study in Sophia Antipolis. The Sophia Antipolis science park, where SKEMA is located, was created in 1969 as Europe’s version of Silicon Valley and is situated in woodlands about 10 km from Antibes. The direct Antibes - SKEMA express bus takes about 20-25 minutes and CEA CAPA students will be commuting with other SKEMA students and employees of high-tech firms who have offices in Sophia Antipolis. The area is home to higher education institutions and industries such as research, health sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, geo sciences, computer science, electronics, networks, and communication. Many global companies maintain a presence here and SKEMA is surrounded by a dynamic, professional environment.
Students quickly feel at home at the small, self-contained campus which promotes sociability and interaction. An active student union organizes many events, activities, and trips (such as integration days, concerts, skiing, sailing and more). There are about 400 undergraduate students on campus and 200 more on transfer placement abroad. Most students are French, but many come from the U.S., UK, Australia, Europe, Eastern Europe, and Asia on exchange programs, making SKEMA Bachelors a truly international program.
At the SKEMA Bachelors program, you will have an international educational experience in a multilingual and multicultural environment where courses are taught by professors of more than 30 nationalities. Each semester’s course schedule is tailor-made to meet your individual needs, with a choice of core and elective courses. Courses are taught in English. Students also have the opportunity to take French language courses at beginners, intermediate and advance levels, so that they may become proficient in speaking, reading and writing French, however, French language courses are not mandatory. Frequent social interaction with Francophile students ensures rapid skill acquisition. All SKEMA professors and administrative staff speak French and English.
SKEMA puts a heavy emphasis on academic responsibility and independence. Instructors expect students to be active listeners and participate in classroom discussions. Students adhere to attendance policies and school rules. Attendance in classes, midterms and finals is mandatory and monitored by professors.
Credit Transfer Information
SKEMA Business School awards credits based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) system. CEA CAPA credit hour recommendations are based on the following conversion: 2 ECTS credits equals 1 U.S. semester credit. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university. Please consult with an academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Accreditation
SKEMA (School of Knowledge and Management) is a private university accredited by EQUIS, European Quality Improvement System, the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. SKEMA is also part of France’s Grande Ecole system and is recognized by the French Ministry of Education and the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce. SKEMA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), joining a small circle of international schools with double accreditation. AACSB accreditation evaluates the excellence of an institution, and in particular the academic level of its faculty, the quality of its programs, the relevance of its strategy and the means to implement it.
Grading
Grade conversions from CEA CAPA partner institutions abroad to a US grading scale are determined in consultation with our School of Record and benchmarked with other peer institutions in the field.
Please note that CEA CAPA can only recommend grade conversions to students’ home institutions—it is ultimately at the discretion of the home institution to convert grades from abroad to students’ academic records.

Classroom and Information
- French and international faculty teach your core, elective and language courses.
- You will attend class with French and international students from around the world.
- Be prepared to adapt to different classroom structures and coursework expectations. Periodic examinations, homework assignments and final exams will be administered.
- Grades are typically based on two mid-terms and a final exam. Some courses also require completion of presentations or group projects.
- Expect direct honesty in grading, with no grade inflation. No extra assignments are given to improve grades.
- Little homework or assignments are given, students are expected to absorb and study materials continually without being prompted. Cramming does not work.
- Attendance in classes is mandatory and will be monitored by each professor.
- A 3 credit course typically takes place once a week in one 3 hour session with a break of 15 minutes after 1.5 hours. 4 credit courses might be split into a 3 hour and a 1.5 hour session over two days.
- Class rescheduling happens frequently in France and cancelled courses are rescheduled.
- As full time student you are expected to be available from Monday to Friday. Students check their online class schedules on a daily basis.
- Midterms, finals and rescheduled classes will often take place on different days from the normal schedule
- Class size ranges from 5 to 45 students (the latter often in a lecture hall).

Program Structure & Courses
You’ll enroll in 1 - 3 CEA CAPA courses and 2 – 4 SKEMA courses. CEA CAPA courses meet for 45 contact hours each, and CEA CAPA recommends 3 U.S. semester credits for each course. SKEMA courses each meet for 15-60 contact hours/1-4 credits. You will have the opportunity to earn up to 16 semester credits for your time abroad.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred CEA CAPA courses and will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. SKEMA course selection is done directly through a SKEMA online course registration form. If you're taking a French language course, you'll take a language placement exam on-site. SKEMA reserves the right to make changes to course lists, course times and pre-selected courses right until the start of the semester.
It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Your housing abroad is more than a place to sleep, it's a place to feel at home.
Health & Safety
Health and safety are a top priority when selecting and reviewing program housing. When evaluating housing, CEA CAPA considers several factors including the surrounding location, commute time to academic or internship settings, as well as the condition of the building exterior and interior, common areas, the individual housing unit, and other living spaces. CEA CAPA works to ensure that program housing meets established minimum health and safety guidelines and aligns with best practices in the field.

Regular cleaning of communal areas for programs longer than 4 weeks.
Wi-Fi
Reliable internet access is included in every housing option we offer.
Students Per Bedroom
Typically 1–2 students per bedroom, with a maximum of 3 per room.
Commute Time
Housing is located within 60 minutes of campus by foot or transportation.
Temperature Control
Cooling and heating appliances are provided (AC not always included).
Kitchen Access
A shared space with basic utensils, refrigerator, freezer, and a stove, oven, or microwave.

Embrace the authentic pace of life in the French Riviera from an apartment in the city center with convenient access to public transportation. Apartments vary in size and layout. You'll enjoy the comfort and privacy of your own bedroom. You'll share the apartment and kitchen with 2 to 5 other students, creating an instant community and a lively home base. This option is ideal for independent students, with the added benefit of your personal sanctuary.
This housing option carries a supplemental fee that may vary depending on the included amenities as well as the length of the program. The exact amount will be provided on the housing application form.
Excursions
Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
