Program Structure
You’ll enroll in one ESSCA Chinese language course and five ESSCA marketing courses. You will complete two language levels of Chinese within the semester. Classes meet for 22.5–90 contact hours/1.5–3 US credits. You may earn a total of 15 US credits (up to 270 contact hours) per semester.
Language and marketing courses meet daily, Monday - Friday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled any day of the week.
You'll select your courses and take a language placement exam after you arrive in Shanghai and enroll in a language course based on the results. To ensure you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home university pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for China. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
