Can’t choose between a summer in Seville, Barcelona, or Madrid? Explore all three in this multi-city program! A diverse range of course offerings and activities enhance your broad spectrum of experiences in these Spanish cities, each known for its unique culture and history. Start your summer with 4 weeks in Seville, where you'll take courses that introduce you to Spanish culture and history. You'll spend the last part of the program in Barcelona, where you'll choose from courses in a range of topics. In between, you'll explore Spain's capital, Madrid, in a weekend active-learning excursion. Courses are taught in English; Spanish language courses at all levels are available during the Barcelona portion of your program.
Located on the Plaza Catalunya in the heart of the city, the CEA Barcelona Center offers courses in a range of subjects, taught in English and Spanish. Learning takes place both in and out of the classroom, with instructors taking full advantage of Barcelona’s many notable sites and attractions.
When in Seville, live as the locals do! Choose CEA housing or arrange your own independent housing. CEA housing assignments are based on availability and confirmation date; we make every effort to match your housing requests, but we can’t guarantee housing preferences.

Program Structure
You will enroll in the 1-credit Traveling Academic Seminar (15 contact hours). This course begins in Seville and ends in Barcelona at the conclusion of your program. Also, depending on the option you choose (2-course, 3-course, or 4-course) you may enroll in 1-2 courses at the CEA Seville Center and/or 1-2 courses at the CEA Barcelona Center. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 2-course option, you may earn 7 credits (up to 105 contact hours); in the 3-course option, you may earn 10 credits (up to 150 contact hours); in the 4-course option, you may earn 13 credits (up to 195 contact hours).
Classes generally meet in the mornings or afternoons, Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled in the evening and/or on Fridays.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses and take a language placement exam. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. If you choose to take a Spanish language or elective course, to ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home university pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for Spain. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
The following courses have been confirmed for this term. Please note, the host institution reserves the right to cancel or change courses without prior notification.
