About the Program
Spend the summer making progress toward your STEM degree on the stunning French Riviera. The seaside town of Antibes serves as both a backdrop and an extension of the classroom as you engage with French culture or language while completing a math course designed to help you stay on track with engineering and other technical majors. No prior French language experience is required, but you'll have the opportunity to build basic language skills as you experience daily life in this historic coastal city.

The CEA CAPA Antibes Center was established in 2024 in the heart of the city to provide new and expanded opportunities for students to earn credit in the French Riviera. CEA CAPA Antibes courses are designed to meet U.S. degree requirements and help students stay on track for graduation -- especially in STEM and Business fields -- while gaining a chance to learn French Language and Culture.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Professors at the CEA CAPA Antibes Center will carefully evaluate your work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating the final grade, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.
The following grading scale is in use for CEA CAPA center-delivered syllabi:

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by faculty selected by CEA CAPA and approved by UNH.
- Periodic homework assignments and final examinations will be administered.
- Class attendance is mandatory and monitored by each professor. You may access your grades and attendance on their CEA CAPA Student Portal.
- Class size is limited to 30, allowing for personalized attention.
- Language classes are designed to be taken with other CEA CAPA students of equivalent language levels.

Credits
Program Structure & Courses
Choose a 1-, 2-, or 3-course option. Students in the 1-course option enroll in 1 CEA CAPA engineering course. Students in the 2-course option enroll in 1 CEA CAPA engineering course and 1 CEA CAPA elective course from either Session I or Session II. Students in the 3-course option enroll in 1 CEA CAPA engineering courses and 2 CEA CAPA elective courses from Session I and Session II.
Engineering courses meet 60 contact hours/4 credits and elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn 4 credits (up to 60 contact hours); if you choose the 2-course option, you may earn 7 credits (up to 105 contact hours); if you choose the 3-course option, you may earn 10 credits (up to 150 contact hours).
Attendance will be required 4-5 days per week, and you will be expected to prioritize your courses over any personal travel
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Health & Safety
Health and safety are a top priority when selecting and reviewing program housing. When evaluating housing, CEA CAPA considers several factors including the surrounding location, commute time to academic or internship settings, as well as the condition of the building exterior and interior, common areas, the individual housing unit, and other living spaces. CEA CAPA works to ensure that program housing meets established minimum health and safety guidelines and aligns with best practices in the field.
Cleaning Services
Regular cleaning of communal areas for programs longer than 4 weeks.
Wi-Fi
Reliable internet access is included in every housing option we offer.
Students Per Bedroom
Typically 1–2 students per bedroom, with a maximum of 3 per room.
Commute Time
Housing is located within 60 minutes of campus by foot or transportation.
Temperature Control
Cooling and heating appliances are provided (AC not always included).
Kitchen Access
A shared space with basic utensils, refrigerator, freezer, and a stove, oven, or microwave.
Laundry
Access to laundry is guaranteed onsite or within walking distance. Drying racks included.
Study Space
A desk in your room or a table in a common area.
Storage Space
Practical, modest storage space for personal belongings.
Linens
Pillows, blankets and sheets.

Apartment - Shared Room
Embrace the local life in the French Riviera from a well-located apartment with convenient access to public transportation. You'll share your bedroom with up to 2 students, and share the apartment with 2 to 5 other students, creating an instant community and a lively home base. This option is ideal for independent students eager for the flexibility and everyday adventure of a true French apartment experience. No meal plan is included however a kitchen is provided.
This housing option is included in the program price.
Apartment - Private Room
Embrace the local life in the French Riviera from an apartment in the city center with convenient access to public transportation. Apartments vary in size and layout. You'll enjoy the comfort and privacy of your own bedroom. You'll share the apartment and kitchen with 2 to 5 other students, creating an instant community and a lively home base. No meal plan is provided. This option is ideal for independent students, with the added benefit of your personal sanctuary.
This housing option carries a supplemental fee that may vary depending on the included amenities as well as the length of the program. The exact amount will be provided on the housing application form.
Excursions
Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
