About the Program
Gain international work experience, develop personal and professional skills, and earn credit towards graduation by participating in an internship opportunity. Internship placements are accompanied by the required Global Internship Course, where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss and analyze theories and models of work and to compare and contrast global organizational behavior and management in a cross-cultural context.

Program Structure
If you choose the Global Cities track, you'll enroll in 1 CAPA internship course for 3 or 6 credits and 2-4 CAPA elective courses from the catalog of course options available to you. Elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. The internship course consists of:
1) a minimum of 20 internship placement hours per week (for a total of 240 placement hours)
2) a class that includes 22.5-45 contact hours.
Combined, the internship placement and course are 3 or 6 credits. Overall, you may earn 12-15 credits. You’ll be awarded a transcript from the University of Minnesota upon successful completion of this track.
If you choose the Global Business Institute track, you’ll enroll in 1 CAPA internship course for 3 credits, and 4 CAPA business courses. Elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits.
The internship course consists of:
1) a minimum of 20 internship placement hours per week (for a total of 240 placement hours)
2) a class that includes 22.5 contact hours.
Combined, the internship placement and course are 3 credits. Overall, you may earn 15 credits. You’ll be awarded a Certificate of Study in Global Business and a transcript from the University of Pittsburgh upon successful completion of this track.
CAPA Center courses meet Monday through Thursday. The Global Internship Course consists of a once per week in-class active learning session combined with complementary field experiences. Internship placement schedules vary and are designed to work around course schedules.
Prior to departure, you will select your courses, including the required 3 or 6 credit Global Internship Course. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Excursions
