Round out your term with options from a variety of humanities courses such as political science, law and more. All courses are taught in English, with the exception of a beginner Hungarian language course.

Enroll in 4-5 courses, taught in English. You can also enroll in an optional Hungarian language or culture course.
Each course is granted 6 ECTS, which convert to 3 US credits per course. Overall you may earn 12 -15 US credits for the full semester.
Classes generally meet Monday – Thursday. Active learning components required by courses may be scheduled any day of the week.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on availability and further changes can be made during the add/drop period at the beginning of the semester. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.

Excursion
CEA CAPA Excursion to Eger, a historic town famous of its vine and the 1552 siege by the Ottoman Empire which was successfully repelled by the heroic defenders. Nearby in Szilvásvárad we will be hiking in the mountains, take the little forest train and have some smoked trout or piping hot tarragon ragout soup for dinner to warm us up. Finally to relax, before heading back to Budapest: a visit to the Cave Bath of Miskolctapolca, a unique thermal bath carved into a cave. |
