DESCRIPTION
In order to grasp fully the effect of substantive legal rules, it is essential to understand the context in which those rules occur ? namely, the legal system. The objective of this module is to provide students with an effective understanding of the sources of Irish law, and, more importantly, of how our system works. It will also give students an opportunity to begin developing the basic skills that all lawyers must have in order to function properly. This course offers a general introduction to the Irish legal system, rather than a detailed examination of areas of substantive law.
