DESCRIPTION

The module will introduce the student to developmental biology. Basic principles of development will be discussed including cellular differentiation, early embryogenesis, pattern formation and morphogenesis, and normal and abnormal post-embryonic growth. The above topics will be dealt with in a number of model organisms that are commonly used in developmental biology to highlight comparative and evolutionary aspects.
