DESCRIPTION
The considerable increase in studies focused on the formulation of the People's Republic of China's foreign policy surrounds us. In addition, the growing dialogue between International Relation's mainstream and Chinese theorists, try to give an intelligible conceptual framework to China's development of capacities and global pretensions. This seminar relies on both. As we indicate some limits within our disciplinary field and, because of that, demand the future international analyst to cross disciplinary frontiers, we make an effort to encourage complex analysis.
To delve into the mixture that tradition and modernity impregnate in the People's Republic of China's international strategy is one of our goals. China is an increasingly high-sounding and assertive actor, in a world not necessarily prepared to understand or assimilate its culture and political language. Latin America, a region full of developing states -ambivalent and conflicted at the end of the first two decades of the XXI century- rest an attractive object of study in itself. However, in this case, it allows us to observe how China's economic diplomacy and foreign policy, has mutated as China resurface and aspire to regain its place in the International System.
