DESCRIPTION

Health, wellbeing and behavior are influenced by a combination of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors. In this course, students use theories and evidence-based approaches from positive psychology, a discipline that has emerged to guide students and practitioners towards greater self-awareness and increased well-being. Students acquire practical tools that can be used to energize organizations and teams and to increase personal well-being. The course explores new strength-based approaches from positive psychology, including Peak Performance, and equips participants to discuss trends and ideas in the world of positive psychology. Peak Performance is relevant for anyone interested in Sports Psychology and different aspects of mental and physical well-being as well as strategies for stress management and resilience. Through experiential learning and reflection, students discover personally meaningful ways to engage with this material.
