CH4041 Current Topics in Spain Study + Internship in Madrid Program Fall 2022 Semester

In this course, suitable for upper-intermediate students of Spanish, the most significant social and cultural aspects of Spanish society are discussed, with particular reference to aspects of social change under which Spain has become a very different country in a relatively short time. The demographic transition, expansion of services, the changing work field and the role of women in society are always presented in relation to the situation in the countries of origin of students. All information and all data will be presented in class rigorously updated and contrasted from official sources. The classes combine reading current newspaper articles which basic aspects of comprehension and vocabulary; in addition, these texts contain the final questions prepared by the professor which students should pay particular attention to, and which serve to establish classroom discussions and sharing.
